The Muslim culture, also known as the Islamic culture, is a popular culture in the middle east including Asia and Africa. Some countries with large populations of Islamic people include Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. There are about 1.2 billion muslims worldwide. The Muslim religion is very modest in reverence to God and very family orientated. ("Roots")
The Muslim religion is based on five basic beliefs and "five pillars." The beliefs are one God (Allah), prophethood, the justice of God, the Imams ( or apostels) of God, and the Day of Judgement. The five pillars are Shada: to declare one's belief in God and Muhammad's prophetic role; Salat: pray five times a day at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and evening; Zakat: give to those in need; Sawn: fast from food, water and other bodily pleasures during daylight hours of Ramadan; and Haj: make a pilgrimage to Mecca atleast once if possible.
